#SanatanBanDebate- Rationalists’ Irrationalism

img
Yellow Journalism of Times Now.

In the wake of the rationalists’ rhetoric demand to ban Sanatan Sanstha “rationalism” being practiced by the rationalists in the country is being revealed; in a sense that practice, acts and agendas of the rationalists are not rationalism particularly in the instant matter as their reasoning to ban Sanatan Sanstha does not withstand the basic test of rationalism.

They call upon the Governments to ban Sanatan Sanstha on the ground that the previous Government in Maharashtra had submitted a 1000 page dossier to the Central Government with a suggestion to ban Sanatan Sanstha. After this what happened the rationalists turn blind eyes to that; as the truth so surfaced afterwards favoured Sanatan Sanstha and negated the rationalists’ motive. The dossier, after submission by the Maharashtra Government, underwent the mandatory scrutiny in accordance with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 and no material was found in the dossier justifying the ban. With this, claim of the rationalists of being rationalist gets shattered since they want ban on Sanatan Sanstha on the basis of submission of the dossier only without letting to look into the content of the dossier. This attitude of their is patently un – reasonable, so is antithesis of rationalism.

Doesn’t the manner in which the rationalists are germinating the basis for their demand to ban Sanatan Sanstha smack of IRRATIONALISM as well as utter disregard to the law of the land and the Judiciary?

Now turn to another reason being argued by the rationalists for the ban. It is in public domain that all accused, who are affiliated with Sanatan Sanstha, in Madgaon bomb blast case in Goa were acquitted by the trial court itself back in December 2013. But the rationalists do not believe in the verdict of the Judiciary and still assume the acquitted persons guilty and say that people of Sanatan Sanstha are accused of Madgaon bomb blast, so Sanatan Sansthabe banned. Is it Rationalism or Talibanism? Doesn’t the manner in which the rationalists are germinating the basis for their demand to ban Sanatan Sanstha smack of IRRATIONALISM as well as utter disregard to the law of the land and the Judiciary? are the questions which the rationalists need to answer themselves before proclaiming themselves rationalists.
